Lygon Arms Hotel Cotswold Gold Taste Lunch

On the 13th February we hosted an exclusive lunch event for 70 guests at The Lygon Arms Hotel and Trinity Modern Gallery, Broadway in association with Warners Budgens’ Taste Club.

The ‘Taste’ event showcased work by leading local artist Jeremy Houghton and an exceptional four course lunch designed by the Lygon’s Head Chef Ales Maurer, which included a variety of Cotswold Gold products.

The Cotswolds Distillery provided guests with their signature cloudy Gin & Tonic during a reception at the recently expanded Trinity Modern Gallery. Guests were welcomed by Jeremy to enjoy the selection of contemporary art on display including many of his own unique and vibrant paintings of birds in flight.

Lunch at the Lygon Arms Hotel followed where, Charlie Beldam, raised a toast to all the fantastic artisan producers throughout the Cotswold region and thanked Warners Budgens for supporting so many of these producers in their stores. A delicious four course lunch followed;

Focaccia bread and Cotswold Gold dipping oils

Truffle Risotto with Cotswold Gold Truffle Oil

Gin Cured Salmon with Smoked Chilli Mayonnaise and Dill Oil

Slow Cooked Rib of Beef with Smoked Oil Mash

Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Lemon Oil Sable and Rhubarb three ways.

Lunch was accompanied by Hales Fruit Farm Apple Juice, Fudge from the Cotswold Fudge Co. and two exceptional wines supplied by Warners Budgens – Mount Brown Sauvignon Blanc and Trastullo Primitivo.

As Charlie rounded up the afternoon he reminded everyone that all ingredients from the menu were available to buy at Warners Budgens so there was no excuse not to be able to recreate the menu at home!

A generous charity raffle was drawn raising over £400 for Jeremy’s charity Heart Felt Tips, which helps to provide stationary for children who do not have easy access to it and encourages children to donate and recycle.

Thank you to everyone who made the event such a success.
