We are over the moon to have won Best food Producer in the Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards this week. This shows all our hard work producing our range of rapeseed oils over the last two years. The Cotswolds is full of amazing food and drink producers, over 10 000, and we strongly recommend going out and trying them. You will be amazed what is on your door step.

With the rain coming down and summer looking like it will have come and gone before we know it it is scary how we are launching our Drizzle range in to shops this week AND the first Christmas order goes out on the in 10 days…! Harvest looks as if it will be late with this year due to the amount of rain we have had. With all the summer boys on the farm chomping at the bit to get on and go its time to clean everything down from top to bottom and get the farm sheds ready for a mad rush.

If you are looking out side and cursing at the rain spare a thought for us farmers. Farming is an odd business. It has approximately two months in an English summer to get all the crop in and planted for next year before the Winter weather closes back in and makes access to the heavy clay that we are on impossible. We could really do with out the weather of 2007 so fingers crossed.

Drizzle went on sale online today for the first time with a good reception and is a must try this summer on your salads and marinades.

The Japans tours have now come to an end for this year and we are already talking to the travel company for next year along side with others such as an English food tours. After the rapeseed fields had gone we turned the tours to looking at a new crop that is as bautaful as the yellow fields but this time it is a stunning blue, this crop is Linseed. Linseed is produced in to an oil but is something we are not currently thinking about doing. The blue flower is new very day unlike the yellow fields that stay out day and night. This make the linseed flower very special. The feedback from the Japanese was overwhelming of this vast stretch of blue.

Cotswold Gold has had a great few months and with all the hard work is set to get better. We are being launched on Wednesday at the same time as the Baker Brothers by Creeds Food Services. We hope this is the start of an ongoing relationship to help build business in the trade areas that we have not yet been able to put much time in to, restaurants, schools and pubs.

Keep an eye out in the press for write ups about Drizzle and the other on facebook and twitter for free ticket giveaways throughout the summer and leading in to Christmas.
